When contacting IT Support, you may be asked for your Computer Name or IP Address (the network address of your computer) in order for our analysts to investigate a fault or deploy software remotely.
Computer Name
To find your Computer Name, right click on the Start button in the bottom left of you screen and select System. When the System window opens, scroll down to Device specifications and your Computer Name will be listed beside Device Name
IP Address
To find your IP address
- Click the Start icon and select Settings (cog icon)
- Click the Network & Internet icon.
- To view the IP address of a wired connection, select Ethernet on the left menu pane and select your network connection, scroll down to Properties your IP address will appear next to "IPv4 Address".
- To view the IP address of a wireless connection, select WiFi on the left menu pane and select your network connection, scroll down to Properties your IP address will appear next to "IPv4 Address".
