The Breakout rooms feature in a Teams meeting allows the meeting organiser to assign attendees to small groups for discussion purposes, group exercises, brain-storming sessions, etc.


Start Breakout rooms


To use Breakout rooms in a Teams meeting, select the Breakout room icon on the taskbar.

Note: it is recommended that anyone new to Breakout rooms in Teams, tests the set up and usage thoroughly before using the feature in a live meeting.
