There are several ways to schedule a Teams meeting.
In Microsoft Teams
-
In the Teams Calendar, select the New meeting button and choose Schedule meeting from the dropdown menu.
-
To schedule a meeting in a Channel, select the Meet button at the top right and choose Schedule a meeting from the dropdown menu.
- In a Chat, select the Schedule a meeting icon below the message box. Everyone in the Chat will receive an invitation and the event will added to their calendars.
-
The meeting setup dialogue is shown below, is mostly self-explanatory and is the same for the three options above.
The Add Channel field allows you to hold a meeting in a Teams channel. This means that chat, links, files and images shared in the meeting chat are posted in the Channel.
Note that a meeting in a Channel requires attendees to be members of that Channel.
Microsoft Outlook
-
In the latest versions of Outlook, go to the Calendar and the select the New Teams Meeting button on the ribbon. From there, set up the meeting as per normal in Outlook.
Older versions of Outlook
-
The Teams Meeting add-in is automatically installed for users who have Microsoft Teams and either Office 2013, Office 2016, or Office 2019 installed on a Windows PC.
Outlook for Mac
- The Teams Meeting button in Outlook for Mac will appear in the Outlook for Mac ribbon (if Outlook is running production build 16.24.414.0 and later and is activated with a Microsoft 365 or Office 365 client subscription).
