  • Teams users at the University can make calls to other University Teams users.
  • Teams calls to / from internal extensions and external phone numbers are available only to specific Teams users.

Find the contact you want to call

Select the Calls icon in the left bar.

Find the contact you want to call.  There is more than one way to do this:


  • In the Make a call pane either:
    • enter a name in the Type a name box, or
    • select a contact from the Suggested list.
  • Select a contact from the Speed dial list or a Group list (if you've added people to these list types).

Types of call


You can make the following types of call:

  • Video - select the video icon
  • Phone - select the phone icon
  • Chat - select the three ellipses and choose Chat from the menu (not available for suggested contacts).

Make the call

Select the appropriate icon.

Speed dial list

Add a contact to the Speed dial list

  • Select the Add speed dial button
  • Enter a name in the Add speed dial dialogue
  • Select the Add button to add the contact to the Speed dial list

Group lists


Create a group

  • To create a group, select the New group button
  • In the Create a new contact group dialogue, enter a Contact group name 
  • Select the Create button to create the group

Add a contact to a group

  • Select the three ellipses on the right side of the group
  • Choose Add a contact to this group
  • In the Add to contacts dialogue, enter a name in the Type a name box
  • Select the Add button.

Remove a contact from a group

  • In the group, navigate to the group contact you want to delete
  • Select the three ellipses
  • Choose Remove from this group.
